Originally made of clay, chillum pipes are narrow funnels used for smoking. Nowadays, they are also made of stone, clay, wood and glass. Chillums usually have a filter stone inside them which stops the smoking substance from falling into the mouth. Chillums were traditionally found only in India. Hindu priests have been using chillums for smoking since thousands of years. Later since around the sixties, they have also been used in America, Africa and some European countries.
